Meeting in Moscow with a head of Sri Aurobindo Ashram-Delhi Branch Tara Jauhar
and her sister Lata Jauhar
2008 year.

Dear friends, In the middle of June 2008 in Moscow there was placed a meeting with Tara Jauhar, a head of Sri Aurobindo Ashram-Delhi Branch, and her sister Lata Jauhar, a professor of linguistics in Sri Aurobindo Ashram at Pondicherry (hereinafter referred to as "the Ashram" also). Both of them are daughters of Surendra Nath Jauhar who is treated as a founder of the New Delhi Branch of Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Tara and Lata grew nearby the Mother. Tara was the Mother's favourite and a very active pupil in the Ashram's school.

Tara and Lata have been living in Sri Aurobindo Ashram at Pondicherry from 1943. Consequently over 7 years they were living while Sri Aurobindo physically existed and saw him on the Darshan. It was Tara and Lata, after whose arrival the Mother started to organize educational process and living facilities at the Ashram for such children as Tara and Lata. Since that time Lata has been living in the Ashram at Pondicherry during 65 years in total. She has good command of 13 languages and now Lata is studying 14th, Russian. She states her desire to know as many languages as Shi Aurobindo knew (i.e. 14). Nowadays Lata is a teacher at Pondicherry Ashram's school.Tara also grew up and educated at the Ashram's school. She knows 8 languages but specifies that only at an intermediate level in comparison with her sister's excellent language knowledge. Later on she headed the Delhi Branch of Sri Aurobindo Ashram that was organized under the Mother's patronage. The Mother highly appreciated the Delhi Branch of Sri Aurobindo Ashram that was founded thanks to Tara and Lata's father and said that it was the biggest and the most successfully developing center devoted to her work beyond the Ashram at Pondicherry.

Tara and Lara described their meetings with the Mother and Sri Aurobindo and the atmosphere in the Ashram at that time. All attendees could raise questions. After this questions-answers section, Tara conducted meditation for us. The air was flooded with the Light and the Gladness.

After meditation Moscow Sri Aurobindo Center of Integral Yoga was presented with a book "Growing Up with the Mother" by the Mother and Tara Jauhar where Tara extended her wishes for Sri Aurobindo followers from Moscow group.

Besides, all attendees were granted coins with Sri Aurobindo's image on them and a legend that is familiar to any yogi worldwide, i.e. "All Life is Yoga". Issuing such coins by India's government colorfully reflects how respectful and beloved Sri Aurobindo was in India. The meeting was concluded by making a general photo and Prasad practice for which Jauhar sisters brought traditional eastern sweets. There were a plenty of smiles and Inner Light.
