Our visit to the Monastery of Swami Vishnudevananda Giri.

Our Guru together with the group of Senior Sadhus visited the Guhyasamaja monastery. This visit lasted from the 7th till the 13th of June. The group was invited by the head of the monastery - Guru Swami Vishnudevananda Giri Ji Maharaja. We were met by the Senior Monks and escorted to the Guru’s house by Divya Chetana Giri. Swami Vishnudevananda Giri kindly showed the monastery to our Guru Mikhail and us.

We visited the Temple of Rishi Vashistha, the Temple of Adi Guru Dattatreya and the Temple of Seven Rishis that was under construction. On the next day under the guidance of the Defender of the Law (Dharma) – Ananta Nath – the Senior Sadhus from our Group entered the retreat rule including mauna (vow of silence). This simple probation lasted for several days and all the Sadhus stood it with honor. It gave us an opportunity to have a look at the Monastery from within. It is known that Monastery is not only houses or even Temples. First of all it is Practice which Sadhus live in. We also managed to visit several Satsangs and lections of the Head of the Monastery. On the day of our departure on Mahapuja our Guru was presented by Swami Vishnudevananda with the big Bell of Dharma and the book about Rishi Vashistha. In turn Swami got two Sri Aurobindo’s sutras as a gift from our Sangha. On the way back we were invited to the Vedic Village where got acquainted with its heartful settlers.
